Kudos to the teachers and parents at SCCPSS..

Quote:
The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System improved its cohort graduation rate by more than a point over last year – rising from 86.6% to 87.8%. That number surpasses the state rate for the fifth year in a row.

Nearly all high schools in the District improved their cohort graduation rate over the previous year with the biggest increases coming at the School of Liberal Studies at Savannah High and New Hampstead High.

Great news. But begs the question, is this downtown pressuring teachers to pump those numbers or not.

You all should contact your school board rep and ask them why they are having such high turn over in transportation. Even the new Sr. Director left after less than 2 years. And how is it acceptable to have buses that run over an hour late. It’s a mess and the school board is all but ignoring that they really have no clue on how to run it.

You worked there, didn’t you? What do you think the problem is?

They hired the same folks that ran First Student and MV Transportation right back to run it under the board. Did they really expect a different outcome?

I guess you might have noticed, in Slovannah not much ever gets changed.

Yeah. But even talking with the board member for my district about the concerns I was seeing first hand, it was shrugged off. They tend to forget when they get on the boards, that these children become their’s and need to act accordingly to prevent a tragedy. I can only imagine the lawsuit that’s coming from the driver that caused a death of the guy on the motorcycle.
