Glad to see GSU start a program like this in Savannah...

As the Savannah arts scene continues to grow, Georgia Southern University looks to develop an academic program focused on the ins and outs of the music industry, exclusively at the Armstrong campus.

“We want to continue capitalizing on the thriving arts and culture scene in Savannah,” said Carl Reiber, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “We expect this potential new program to bring in more students, so we can strengthen our involvement with local traditions such as the Savannah Wind Symphony.”

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, the music industry revenue grew 18% to $5.4 billion at retail in the first half of 2019. If the program is approved, it would be offered under the existing Bachelor of Arts in Music degree with an emphasis on music technology and music business.
