For those who watch Fox in the morning, and are crazy enough to be downtown tomorrow, 3/17/23, they’ll be broadcasting from there.

Well, I must be crazy then because my wife and I (and a few hundred thousand of our closest friends) had a great time downtown Friday, before, during, and after the parade.

I get that, but did you drive down and park? We’ve been there, done that many times. If we go, we take the shuttle from Pooler now.

Yes and no. We booked a room at Perry Lane Hotel beginning on Thursday the 16th, so although we drove there, we didn't have to deal with traffic or parking on St. Patrick's Day. What was also nice was that they have a set of bleachers reserved just for hotel guests on the parade route on Abercorn a block away from the hotel. They also gave us each cooler bags full of beer, water and snacks, and also brought water and/or champagne out to you in the bleachers as well.

Before we bought our house and moved to Savannah permanently (or at least for the next few years), we were here last winter/spring renting a carriage house off of Gordon & Bull in the Historic District, so we were able to just walk over to the parade and enjoy the other festivities on River St., etc. Now that we live 10 miles outside of town, I think we'll make booking a hotel room our own annual tradition. It was even a lot of fun the night of the 16th as many people (including us) were already decked out in green and having a good time.

That sounds like fun.
