My family needs help regarding housing, jobs, and everything inbetween. We are starting over in Savannah. My husband would like to get a job at International Paper, since that is similar to his profession. We are looking at housing(trailers)on the west side with land. But rentals may have to be a possibility, but we do have 2 medium size dogs.
Any advice or help is appreciated!!

You really don't want to move into a trailer unless it's your last resort. We have tornados and high winds from time to time. Not good. Plus, for the most part, the kind of people who end up in mobile homes are not always the best. It's the bottom of the barrel. No offense intended, but because it's the least expensive option and the least permanent, you often find people living in them are from less than stable backgrounds.

There is plenty of existing housing stock with fenced yards that you can rent. Try that first. You'll end up in a better situation than if you choose otherwise.

I take high offense to what you say about people who live in trailers. I myself have lived in houses, trailers, and apartments and there are no certain kind of "people" who live in each one. I understand your point, but I think you should choose your words more carefully when giving advice to others.
As far as what you are looking for, you can find many nice houses or trailers which will fit your needs.

This post dates back to 2008. I am sure that if the OP moved to Savannah, they have found a home somewhere.
