I'm going on a road trip next month, and will be pretty close to Savannah. I couldn't tell you a single thing about the city, never been there. Any reason for a side trip, or a couple hour delay to check out something cool? Just wondering. Thanks everyone.

Parking will be your biggest challenge. No longer than you'll be here, try parking in the new underground parking garage on Whitaker St., just off of Bay St. From there you can easily walk down to River Street and take a look around.

You'll have to do the Googling for directions yourself, though.

We took the time to stop on our way back from Charleston and Im glad
we did....If you are interested in architecture and historical stuff it is one of
the most beautiful cities you will ever see. Ive been before, decades ago,
but they it has really improved since then. The SCAD'ees add a certain
vibrancy to the area too.... We are looking at places to move and I put
Savannah #3 on my list after our visit
