Yes, there are a few old folks who have a tinge of the old accent. The last of the Geechee people can be found on or around Sapelo Island. Gullah people still live on the islands outside of Beaufort.

You don't often hear the real dialects in public settings like Walmart or the grocery store, since people can speak regular English well enough to be understood. You can probably go online and look for Library of Congress recordings if you can't find any cooperative locals.

Not really, just two different terms for referring to the same thing. Gullah is used more in GA, Geechee is used more in SC.

You're right, he has it backwards.

Speaking of, the market in Charleston might be a good place to listen to the basket ladies speak Gullah. They used to when I was a child.

Probably not. Savannah is now filled with out-of-staters, especially from up north. To hear a 'Savannah' accent, you'll need to go to some of the rural surrounding counties (bulloch, et al). But even then, it's sort of a cross between a general Georgia accent and Savannah accent (which sounds a lot like the Charleston accent). As for gullah, that's on the islands, not savannah proper.
