A Californian team say they have managed to convert human skin cells directly into functioning brain cells.



The scientists manipulated the process by which DNA is transcribed within foetal skin cells to create cells which behaved like neurons.

Yeah it is. I've seen articles where ordinary white fat cells have been turned into brown fat in rats, cows can be genetically altered to make human milk, arthritic dogs can be cured, not to mention fixing ligament damage. It seems the field is exploding.
