I got to wondering if bombs would work. It seems the water they drop is like turning a sprinkler on ... it seems too little, too late.

Maybe Bush should've asked the tree huggers if they hug dead brush and dead trees...

It's amazing how many people don't understand that they are supposed to burn. It's part of their natural life cycle.

Well, then, maybe we should not waste so much money on fighting the fires, unless residences or towns are involved.

If people would use some common sense on the location of where they build their houses...

Fires are natures method of cleaning out the dead stuff and rejuvenating the soil.

The cure should be let nature take it's course.

I remember a story about a fire in Colorado in which one guy had some kind of foam in case of fire. I guess he was one of few who had that idea, and his house was saved.

Oh I understand all too well. I've fought many forest fires [I wonder if YOU have ever done so or just sit back and watch?] Too many times the wood that can be used to warm houses in the winter or build things is destroyed so aren't the lives of wildlife that didn't get out of the way.

THAT idea was tried in Yellowstone. they let it burn for a month unchecked and never stopped untill manpower and aircraft was used to put it out [I believe they lost several homes and almost lost an historic lodge there]
