Chemistry and physics for the sciences, but my real passion is in the application rather than the pure science aspect. Maybe that is why 75% of my papers are in engineering and nanoscience journals rather than traditional chemistry.

Going from this list mine would have to be:

Formal Sciences:

Computer Science
Mathematics
Statistics
System Science

The reason is computers and information technology advances exponentially and impacts every part of our lives and all the other sciences. Without computers we would still be living like they did in the 1800's.

Personal preference (not in order): archaeology, astrophysics, and economics (macroeconomics specifically).

Physical Sciences:
Nanoscience in general. The rules at that small are a little different. I use to read nano particle books full of journals at my local university.
Physics - Like the idea, never really dove into the subject.

Formal Sciences:
Computer Science - I'm a programmer.
Mathematics - Let's do some matrix math.

Applied Sciences:
Architecture - Love the designs and functionality that comes out of some of them

Looking at the list of the fields of science that the OP posted, I will have to save that list. I've always had an interest and appreciation for science but never really got into it. It's never too late to get started.

For someone who wants to learn the basics on my own time, just for the general knowledge, are there any books and/or websites that you guys would recommend that I check out for the following?
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Earth Science (Ecology, Geology and Meteorology)
  • Environmental Science
  • Life Science (Biology, Zoology and Botany)
  • Anthropology
  • Economics (Macro and Micro)
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
I know that is a lot that I am asking. Thank you!

@ Joke Insurance -

There are TONS of channels on youtube on a variety of subjects. There are free online courses to study any of those areas. Just google them. For example, I am studying chemistry for free here:
