The lightning strike that stopped the first train does not seem out of the ordinary -- but that the control system for the second train could not "see" far enough ahead to avoid running into the stopped first train -- that is just retarded.

They didn't have any train control system like most large scale railway systems do , so thus when the first train stopped , the second one didn't and rammed into it. You don't see these accidents happening in Korea or Japan or Europe , or the Northeast... Its pretty rare for lighting to stop a train.....just like its rare for it to stop a car... This is what happens when China or any country cuts corners....
