You might want to take your political rhetoric to political forum. Thank you. But if you're trying to be honest and asking a question... my experience begs to differ from yours.

Is there not a warranty on them?
Have you had your homes AC checked?
Don't you think there would be a national uproar and the forums here flooded with posts if these bulbs had the problem you are experiencing?

Actually I'm having the same problem, and the circuitry in my house is fine. My wife bought into the whole CFL argument, but we haven't been impressed. The bulbs only last incrementally longer than incandescents, and definitely dim as they age...hardly worth the extra cost. We are stocking up on incandescents too.
The Texas Legislature recently passed HB 2510, which allows light bulb manufacturers to continue producing incandescent bulbs in the State, in spite of Federal mandates aimed at phasing out incandescent bulbs by 2012.
Texas - We got our **** together! At least someone in this country has some foresight. I've been stocking up on incandescent for a couple of years now. Those new lights don't give enough light to read by.

Since 2005 in my house. Most bulbs are from then. If I were having the problem as you claim to, I wouldn't be replacing the dead old ones with new.
Oh, and I've got quite a few incandescent bulbs too (those that meet the new regulations), a couple have been in place for over a year... if you don't like CFLs, these are (and will be) available.
