Is it a lost art? Socializing in person?
I see people, mostly younger, texting their friends who are usually sitting right next to them! And while I do agree that sites like these allow you to share media and informative websites with people who dont live nearby. But maybe we are getting too dependent on them while neglecting to perfect our social skills. They do still matter, especially in interview and customer service situations. We are still human beings: The original computers, responsible for the existence of the one your using right now.

We actually said hello to one another in public...

We weren't scared to shake hands for fear of getting sick from the other person...

We could tell who was male and who was female...

Usually people meet in real life and then become friends on facebook. In fact facebook has a thing that says you should know the person first before 'friending' them. Maybe you're thinking of dating websites?
