I heard about this. The information I read was this laser could be used to simulate stellar core dynamics , in lieu of neutrino studies. The researchers stated experimentation in order to watch the neutrinos 'phase' into alternate universes. Maybe if they could find a way to increase the output by an order of magnitude , they may possibly be able to open a 'rift' in spacetime , or begin studies in subspace applications. Hopefully , it won't be used as a weapon , but it likely already is.
