and are just as clumsy as I am, I highly recommend you invest in the Apple wireless keyboard. Sturdy, and apparently robust to water spills. Well mostly. My "z" button now outputs az. I can't help it. ... looks like if I have to type out "azanazibar" I'll have to do some major backspacing.

I dumped coffee on a keyboard once, I took it apart. Washed everything just with water because I had nothing to loose at that point. Carefully dried it with a hair dryer and put it back together, it worked fine. It was wireless and I probably wouldn't do it with wired keyboard.

I'm on my second Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse with no problems, excepting that a home break-in a couple of years ago took my original cordless mouse.

I did spill some tea on my Dtv remote last week but no problems yet.

I cooked a mouse once, my old house was pretty bad with the static. I went to touch the mouse after sitting down...... zzzzzzzzzzt. It went right through the crack between the two buttons. No more mouse. I was pissed too because it was favorite mouse of all time.

Don't most tower PCs have built in cup holders?

You can take apart most keyboards and wash them, they can be wired or wireless, but the keys will lose their "touch" once you take it apart and put it back together, but they will usually work just fine.

You wash them in the sink, do NOT remove the keys from the top half, there will be two plastic sheets with circuit grids on them, make sure you clean between them, wipe everything good or let it dry for a day or so in a dish rack, do not put any of it in a dishwasher.

YES, I speak from personal experience.

Is all this worth the $20 or so a new keyboard costs? Depends on what $20 means to you.

To me it's "because I can". I just spent a few hours saving a nearly new ink cartridge that went unused for about two years. If there is a next timeNet time around it's goin to be a few minutes of actual work .

Ramekin with 1/4 inch of water >> boil water in microwave>> let the print head sit in the water for about 15 minutes >> let it dry

I usually just wipe the print head with a qtip and some isopropyl alcohol but this one was stubborn.

Right at hip height, too. They are most convenient.
