The EU's Women In Science campaign funded by the EU Commission is a joke. Their website has a video titled: 'Science it's a Girl Thing' - it juxtaposes things from science such as bunsen burners and fibre optic cables with items they've obviously found in a selection of women's magazines: lipstick and shoes.

Are you a hot BABE in heels and a short skirt? SCIENCE is for YOU ? The Register

I don't know who or what The Register is, but they made the video private which has me unimpressed. If they're hoping to bash someones attempts to get girls interested in science then perhaps they should not hide the video they're presenting.

On the other hand, the video on the first site you linked to had, as far as I could see, one picture of a lipstick and it was in the presentation name. I thought it was a good idea. If connecting the things girls are interested in with science works, then why not?

Perhaps I missed something.

The Register has been around for over a decade....

What you are saying makes no sense, the video posted on The Registers website (just like a video posted here on C-D) is a link to Youtube, the Youtube poster made it private.

I have posted many other topics in this and it's sub forums from The Register which you have commented on.......

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed did we?

So you're saying the Register doesn't take the time to check if a video is private before linking to it? Real smart bunch working there.

Hair is fine. Trying to figure out why a paper (or whatever it is) would trash an attempt to get girls interested by publishing falsehoods about that site. They state" "it juxtaposes things from science such as bunsen burners and fibre optic cables with items they've obviously found in a selection of women's magazines: lipstick and shoes." and I see no evidence of this on the site mentioned or on the Register site except the one I posted. Care to show me where this occurs instead of getting snippy?.

I have to assume that site is akin to the Inquirer and it's ilk.

Mayhaps the video poster made it private after the register posted the article?

Instead of taking the elitist high road read these:

BTW, here's the video......

Basing one's opinion on an entire website because of one video link that the video poster marked private, going just a mite bit overboard aren't we?
