I'm curious whether companies will adopt Windows 8 or will Windows 8 be left in the lurch like Vista was.
Do you know if your corporate computers will stick with XP or 7 or upgrade?
Windows 8 Pro is going to be $39.99 which is significantly cheaper than what Windows 7 Professional sells for.
Our computers are still running Windows XP Professional for the next few months while our devs work on Windows 7 apps. Since Windows 8 is going to be remarkably similar to Windows 7 and be released in October, there shouldn't be too much delay if they decide to test and deploy it on Windows 8 rather than 7. But I guess IT wouldn't go for 8, would they.

I have no idea, but Windows 7 is just barely getting started. Most are still using XP on the desktop. I really can't imagine that they would be in a hurry to go any further.
I have been slowly upgrading our PC's to Win7.
80% are on 7. 20% on XP. 1 PC is on Vista.
By the time 8 rolls out we will all be on 7.
And we are staying with 7 for a long time.
I test drove 8 on the receptionist PC which is a 23" touchscreen all-in-one PC from Dell.
No one liked it and I had some issues with it: back to 7.
We're testing Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 right now. It's significantly better than what we have out clients running right now and will save them lots of money over the years. However, many of our clients don't have capital for such an upgrade until 2014... so they have no plans to upgrade sooner.
I work for a large IT company (> 3000 code monkeys) and we'll be running XP for the foreseeable future.
