I could probably find a more specific forum to post on, but I'll start with the good old CityData for some help.
I recently destroyed my lanyard for my flash-drive. As a replacement, I wired up a loopback adapter with cat6 to act as the "loop" on the flash drive, and would like to make another end with a keystone jack to act as a quick-disconnect and lanyard.
But, I want it to be more. I'd like to jam a little 3V battery inside the keystone, wire it up to an LED, and have it light whenever the flash-drive is missing.
But the question I have is "how."
I imagine it's possible to do with some kind of switch, I just don't know how to switch off the power to the LED when the loopback is connected, and turn on the LED when the loopback is disconnected.
