How much per month do you currently pay for all your services for all electronic communications? Internet, phone, texting, music, cable, downloads, gps, apps, games, iStuff, Netflix, everything. Itemize if you can. Separately, how much pr year spent on hardware?
For me, it's $120 for bundled cable/internet and $15 for landline plus per-call long distance, plus $20 a month for MLB or HBO, depending on the season, for a total of $155. My hardware is a desktop or a small-screen TV or monitor replacement, abut every couple of years, so maybe $150-200 a year. Call that $15 a month, so total $170 a month.
Amazingly, all the hardware I carry home in a box costs only 1/10 of the cost of switching it on and using it. Quite unlike the days when you could set your new TV on a table, plug it in, adjust the rabbit ears, and watch everything there was to watch, forever, just for the price of enduring the commercials. Now we pay for the privilege of enduring the commercials.
I didn't include electric bill in the question, because I doubt if any household uses more than about $10 a month of their electric bill to support electronics. My spring-fall electric bill is only about $50 a month, and nearly all of that is lights, hot water, fridge, stove.
Cable: $60.45 (internet only no television or home telephone)
Verizon: $267.75 (2 iPhones, 3 iPads, 1 Air Card)
No upgrades for software or hardware and I only buy jump drives when they are on sale and I actually need one
Current equipment we have is: 2 desktops, 2 laptops, 2 mini's, 1 blackberry playbook (I want to sell), 2 iPads (3 if you count the one we bought my Mother), 2 iPhones, 1 desktop scanner, various printers/fax combinations (a couple are for sale) and 1 iConvert Scanner for the iPad (for Sneakers to take with while on the road so he can scan in his paperwork and not have to haul around paper copies) and I think 3 external hard drives for computer back ups but I might have 4 to include the laptops.
If I include landline phone (unlimited long distance), sat tv, sat internet, cell, dial-up backup internet access, website it comes to just under $200/mo. total. The tivo was a lifetime subscription about ten years ago. Haven't been forced to watch any commercials since then, have ad-block and no-script on the browser, so minimal ads there as well.
Netflix and Facets are DVDs only. No ads there either.
Hardware has been amortized out long ago, and I buy used computers.
Phone, one cell, HTC Android, 250 minutes/text, 10 meg data but I use wifi. $12 mo.
Electronics are all paid for... 42" LCD, PC w/21" monitor, ext HDD.
Internet, TW/RoadRunner, 10 meg, no cap, $30 mo.
For TV I use Roku, paid for. Over Roku I use PlayOn - life time subscription, paid for, with a TV subscription to watch any cable channel at the same time you do, $10 one time. Plus, the PlayOn subscript includes PlayLater to download any available programming to my PC, to watch on TV at any time I choose.
So in all, my electronics entertainment costs $30 month. Sometimes I do watch an Amazon movie, sometimes they're free with Amazon Prime - paid for.

Internet - $35 / month (Clearwire, the only plan they offer here)
Phone - $30 / month (Straight Talk cell phone, 1000 minutes + 1000 texts + 30 MB data)
Don't you guys ever upgrade video cards, hard disks, routers, mice, speakers, monitor?
I bought a wireless mouse at big lots for $10 a few months ago. Does that count?
