I own a Verizon LG flip phone. How smart it is, I do not know. It does have a camera but photos have to be sent to e-mail and I do not have that feature on my plan.
I do have a heavy Compaq laptop from 2002. That does not count as a tablet.
I guess I am not in that half.
Are you and why or why not?
I don't travel much to need a tablet and my jobs don't require one either.
Both. I can run my business from my phone - it wouldn't be easy, but it can be done, which is important - when my customers need something, they need it NOW, and being able to do whatever I need to do, wherever I happen to be is essential.
The tablet is mostly for surfing and stuff while I'm relaxing in the living room. I also bring it with me when I travel, although I usually also bring my laptop in case I need to do any work. I can work with the tablet like I can with the phone, but the laptop is just so much easier, so it's worth bring along on a trip, even if I never pull it out of the bag.
Howard555. I'm in the half that doesn't have a smartphone or a pad! Can't afford the fees that go with them. All these data plans are expensive and I already pay enough just to have a phone with 250 text messages. Not even unlimited. LOL
I only use the texts with some of the younger generation that won't talk. LOL
Guess that happens when you get older too, you don't need all the fancy stuff and then you don't understand it when it comes down to it. I'm totally lost with understanding the smartphones or the iphone5 is it?
Anyway, I understand my parents now when it came to Casettes and computers. They were lost when they came out. Glad they are both gone now cause I'm sure they are turning over in their grave seeing what's going on now, if they see it, that is. LOL
My husband and I have both. He travels for work and is gone for weeks at a time, sometimes months at a time and I own my own business. We can "visit" on facetime with the ipad, it is smaller, easier to handle and carry and I can receive invoices and pay them anywhere I am. I can also enter any banking transaction on either the iPhone or the iPad and it updates to all devices at the same time and I can check my bank accounts anywhere. For me they are wonderful tools for personal and professional use. We even bought my Mother an iPad so we can visit with her since we live a 5 hour drive from her and I am not physically able to travel that far alone and neither is she.
Sounds like a wonderful Idea CSD. Good for you to be able to visit that way. I know what it's like not to be able to go anywhere and not visit as often. Guess that's why I use my phone. LOL. I'm happy that you can find a way to use both! Congrats!

Neither, because I don't want to become addicted to them. It's bad enough I spend hours a day on city-data.
