I don't know what to think of that. Maybe it is just a measure to keep those rapidly growing Chinese manufacturers out of the US market and protect Cisco

The South Korean giants are also rather secretive by the way. But nobody is worried about LG or Samsung equipment such as cell phones.

Why don't Western IT experts just take some random Huawei or ZTE equipment and take it apart to the smallest component, analyze the software etc., in order to find out if there are any back doors?

I am about to get 4G Internet access and I only have the choice between a Huawei and a ZTE USB modem. There are no alternatives it seems.
