This is great news! I will be following this closely in the next year or so.

This is from U.S. News and World Report:

In a promising start to a brand new year, researchers at the University of Tokyo and the Riken Research Centre for Allergy and Immunology may have found a possible cure for some of the worst diseases plaguing mankind, including HIV and cancer. Working as a team, researchers from both institutions were able to extract live T-cells, the vital powerhouses of the human immune system, from patients, specifically targeting specialized cytotoxic T-cells which have the ability to recognize and attack signs of infection. One donor suffered from skin cancer; another HIV.

Great post. i fear the drug companies will suppress this or delay it as long as possible. I doubt they would take losing revenue kindly from astronomically expensive drugs like AZT and Tamoxofin if there is a real cure.

If only we could cure greed.

Maybe I am optimistic but I think the money to be found for the company who finds a cure will far outweigh any money lost.
