"The mystery of how living organisms sprung out of lifeless rock has long puzzled scientists, but we think that the unusual phosphorus chemicals we found could be a precursor to the batteries that now power all life on Earth. But the fact that it developed simply, in conditions similar to the early Earth, suggests this could be the missing link between geology and biology," said Dr Terry Kee, from the University's School of Chemistry, who led the research.

That is a very interesting paper. People are often under the mis assumption that Amino Acids just popped into existence, when in fact, there are numerous steps along the way, which must be catalyzed by something as this paper suggests.

Living things do not come from non-living things. I thought that spontaneous generation was debunked by the scientific community over a hundred years ago.

Having spoken to God recently - I asked him....."What's for super?" He replied..."Primordial soup".....I said - not again!.... seriously...the connection between geology and biology is slightly off the mark. The connection should be more simple than that. Static lifeless material becomes mobile living matter. It's kind of biblical. He took some clay from the ground and breathed life into it and it became a living being. The investigation into how this took place will be very interesting. Darwin disassemble creation to a degree in order to understand it. He came very close to figuring out what intelligent design really was. The same can be said of the SOUP...once we figure out the ingredients we can copy God and and eventually extract a microbe that did not exist from non-living matter....Go for it.

Well they didn't have internet back then so what they said 100 years ago is irrelevant.

They've come up with algorithms that show soft "robots" that have learned to move or walk.

Sometimes I'm a little slow on the uptake. I read this again and laughed my ass off! Wish I could rep you again, but CD says, "No."
