I'm guessing this is a technology subject since it's kinda of a new technology or at least new usage. If a mod disagree feel free to move it.
Amazon plans to use drones to deliver packages under 10 pounds and within 10 miles of their warehouses, within 30 minutes. They plan to be able to get this plan working within 5 years.
Am I the only person who believe this will probably never work at least in the US?
There are issues with:
Safety, They fall on someone who some how doesn't see it coming.
Theft. Obviously.
Paranoia from some people: who believe it's going to hangout out at their bedroom window or can somehow find what's in their browser history while flying over.
It would be really cool to see this happen I personally buy a ton of stuff from amazon weekly.
Anybody think the Amazon Drones will become reality one day or is it Science Fiction?

It has limits tho
10 mile radius from distribution center ;10 lbs;many cities have delivery services as good if needed immediately;in a world of free delivery it might not be that popular either. If you do not pick free or have prime their delivery charges are way high; IMO.
If it can't set it on my front porch I don't want it delivering to my house. If it won't ring the doorbell when it leaves the package I don't want it delivering to my house.

Two rules.
I'll wait.
Will you settle for a text message instead of the doorbell?
Gets the point across at around the 2 minute mark..
