Dec. 20, 2013 — A new study finds that in Texas, the U.S. state that annually generates the most electricity, the transition from coal to natural gas for electricity generation is saving water and making the state less vulnerable to drought.

Water may be used, but it is not lost. It still resides on Earth.

Water is not a finite resource, that once used no longer exists.

A shift from coal to natural gas may consume less water. Texas and 30 others states are still vulnerable to droughts.
