You all know about it - Paul Steinhardt and Neil Turok's theory of Ekpyrotics. In Neil DeGrasse Tyson's "Origins", he says the model has emotional and intellectual appeal but not enough to win the minds of other cosmologists. It was certainly winning my emotional mind. I was truly enjoying the picture - whether scientific or not - of those two universities slamming into each other and creating a conflagration. Maybe not but...

This morning, I remembered the prediction that the Milky Way and Andromeda may crash into each other some 4 billion years from now. No conflagration but a meeting, yes. So, if it can happen in the future, surely no one is scoffing at the idea that it might have happened in the past?

And maybe, just maybe those two universes are still connected in a way that explains dark energy Neil Tyson also says we do not yet know where that comes from.

Is it so wrong to think that way?

"Imagination is more important than knowledge since knowledge is limited but imagination is endless." (Einstein)
