Ok, I've made a post.

I ended up installing on my computer today, went with Extreme Overclocking Stats for now. I used to use the site a lot and figured they could use the credit until we get this going if we do.

Quick start

If you do download, make sure you install what is suggested for your computer. There are two main options a
1) Windows 2000/XP/Vista Graphical client version 5.03
2) Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista text-only console (with built-in Windows-service-install option) version 5.04

I prefer the 2nd option as it uses less resourses and once you set it, you pretty much forget it.

To install the 2nd option - you can either install in a download folder or in program files. Make a new folder in either called Folding or Folding@Home, download the version you'd like, then click on it to install. If you are running Vista, right click the red "gear" icon & select run as admin.

1) Name You will get a black "command prompt" box. It will ask for your user name
before picking a name go here to check search names You want to make sure you have a unique name unless you are already folding for another team, you may keep your name, just change the team #

2) it will ask for the team. type in 115416
3) launch the program at startup - yes
4) use internet explorer settings - no
5) use proxy - no
6) allow receipt of work assignments over 5mb in size - yes
7) change advanced options - no unless you are using a dual core processor, directions will follow for that later. For now running one is fine.

Folding will start, let it go. To stop it, press Control-C in the folding window. Next time you start your computer folding will start. You will not see the "command prompt" window again.
