Its more a psychology issue, fundamental fear is at the root of most problems.
Those who are afraid in their core will crumble first as pressure increases.
I don't really think of science when I see these social "studies" , for me they lack rigor.
I've seen very bright and capable people literally frozen in fear when their perfectionism got the better of them. To the point they can't get out of bed or go to work.
But as I said, its really a psychological issue.
Psychology strikes me more of an art than a science.
