I am frustrated and don't know if I have another option. My phone won't backup anymore photos to my Google account because my storage is full. I know it backs up to my Google account but it is full, but wasn't until the Geek Squad suggested me backing it up to a thumb drive. In order to do that the photos had to load onto the computer and then to transfer to the thumb drive and then delete it on the computer. It all quit while doing this because I have no more storage on my computer. Is there any other options? The Geek Squad explained what to do, but it won't work. I am thinking of having them to help me to delete all the shortcuts they put on here and the the thumb drive and give up. I am just upset and frustrated.

Gonna second that. Pay for more online storage. You clearly don't have any more storage on your account now, you don't want to pay for more, but you don't have any more storage on the computer you want to transfer the files to either. You can either leave the pictures on your phone and hope it doesn't die on you or you lose it, or you can cough up and either pay for more online storage or more storage on your computer.

Depending on the phone you have, you can copy your photos straight to a USB stick, but that's usually just as much of a PITA as transferring through your computer and you still run the risk of losing the USB stick. You can Google that one, since it depends on your phone.

In short - you're going to pay somewhere. My preference is to pay for the easiest/simplest solution. Work smarter, not harder.

Free up some space on your computer so you can transfer your photos there and then to an external hard drive.

1. PC via a USB cable
2. Different photo service such as Amazon Prime or Microsoft OneDrive
3. Micro SD card if it has that option or OTG as mentioned.

There are other ways...

Perhaps but that is what The Geek Squad told me. They only know one way to do things. Asking them seems like they wanted me to check my computer in for them to transfer all for $100. No way! My plan does not include data transfer. Some guy there was very nice and tried to show me but when I got back home, it would not work. Then again, I am not computer savvy. And when I took it back to ask for help again, a different guy got nasty with me and he does the data transfer and wanted me to check my computer in. And a friend told me that they are many apps to transfer stuff without using a thumb drive, like One Drive. I didn't know or have used it. So that is what I did, transferred all to One Drive.
