Oops, my hand control went kaput for my recliner chair. Glad I got out of it without calling the national guard (ok, ems). It's an 8-pin hand held male plug connector. The first one went blooey on me and I paid about $100 to replace it. But we're moving in a few months and I am not taking the dear chair plus I don't want to spend $100 (amazon) to replace it for the 2nd time. I can't find a cheap 8 pin connector for this chair. 2 pin connectors are easier and cheaper to find. :-( Any suggestions short of getting rid of the chair? Which I am working on anyway but -- in the meantime -- can't find a cheap hand held device for that chair. It's an 8 pin male plug which makes it hard to replace. :-( Without spending $100.
Since yours doesn't work, open it up and take a look inside. Chances are you will find a part where a plastic rocker arm is broken, a contact set that is burned or no longer making contact, a broken wire or two, or some other wear defect.
Mouser has every component part imaginable, and broken wires and connections are easy fixes. If that type of fix is too much, then you may need to spend the $100. (FWIW, some parts can take a while to arrive.)

Ok I see a broken wire. This is my 2nd one so I was hoping no broken wires, but no such thing. After about 2 years. I'll look at handle thanks
Oh, that's sad.. But I can't see other options but paying for the repair
Thanks, it was a while ago, a lot happened since then. If I recall correctly, I purchased a hand control that worked from eBay much cheaper than from the manufacturer.
Have you tried checking online marketplaces or forums for used or refurbished hand controls? This could be a more affordable option than buying a brand-new one.
