Been a dish network customer for 12 years, but now at $150/month, we find ourselves not watching most of the channels. I can stream news and weather like CNN, CNBC, weather channel. And for my science shows, can stream Science channel, discovery, NetGeo, etc.

If I cancel dish network over the phone, are they going to offer me any incentives or stuff that might make me change my mind? I know that stuff will be temporary anyway, but I wanted to know what people are being offered these days from dish network/directv who cancel since I don't like to be caught off guard for anything.

***UPDATE**

I posted to this thread in 2022, but never did anything.

I called dish this week and said I want a lower monthly bill and the first person offered free PPV movies every week and HBO and other stuff I would never use. They said, "I will transfer you to a "billing specialist" who can help with the deals you want.

So I got upgraded to the Hopper 3 and two Joey 3s with no upgrade fee, and got $35 off the total bill for a guaranteed 2 years.

Excited to finally get a faster receiver. It was a good run for the current 11 year-old receiver, but time for faster processors!

My cable bill over 8 years increased to $315. And that is basic cable, no movies channels etc. I told my wife this needs to end now, however, she was used to her stations and did not want to change, but after that increase to 315 bucks she agreed. We now just stream everything, just a router and modem through our cable company (No competition). Our bill is now $91 per month.

Streaming is much better by a mile.
