Anybody have a suggestion for a free pdf app for my laptop, because I want to download a form where I must insert names or information, and I'd like to do this directly on the computer to print out rather than write in the names & information when needed. Any suggestions, please?

Acrobat reader should accomplish this. Click tools, fill and sign.

Free Acrobat Reader will let you fill in fillable forms. However, if you need to modify the forms, then you need a professional version. As an example, I had to use my Adobe Acrobat X Standard version to modify my state's fillable tax form, so that it would accept the Payer's 9 digit TIN. There was only room for 8 digits, which then caused an error that cleared the text box (sigh).

OK, I can't figure out how to get a (free) program that will fill in the form so I think I'm giving up and will type out the entire form with the names. (sigh) Thanks for trying to help.

Hi, thanks for trying to help. I looked for (free) Acrobat programs but couldn't find any free ones. Oh well, I'm giving up for a while at least. :-)

I sure don't like pdf editors to be paid by the month or year, while readers are free. Anyway, here are a few pdf editors, but most aren't free:

Have Foxit too. Free and works just fine.
Foxit PDF Editor is also available as a free online version that you can open in any browser.
