This is the second or third time i've read over the last several years about how when the human body has a high number of parasites the chances for ANY autoimmune disease and/or asthma are greatly lessoned. The scientists are theorizing that the parasites that have been in us for thousands of years through out evolution work with the immune system to keep it calm and only during the last 50 to 100 years as sanitation and antibiotics has improved to kill off these parasites as we now are seeing an explosion of autoimmune diseases.

I read once that children allowed to play outside in the dirt when growing up have less asthma and autoimmune disorders as it primed their immune systems to recognize these microbes as natural so when exposed as adults the immune system doesn't become hyper and attack the body instead.

Marketing of products based on creating an unreasonable and unfounded fear of "germs" is a huge problem. We co-exist with and in a sea of things we cannot see, and we always have. Not a "germ" under the rim of the toilet is sold as a threat to the little girl sitting on the toilet.

The unintended consequences of corporate marketing is a generation of children that are sickly, with all types of allergies because their parents have been scared into keeping them in a sterile environment, preventing their bodies from developing normal immunity to what should be completely harmless microorganisms.

Anti-bacterial handsoap for a healthy person is totally unnecessary, and in the long term harmful as it is causing harmless bacteria to mutate into resistant forms, that our body cannot as easily deal with.
