I own a large fast dob I built myself. It has a Coulter optic 13.1" primary (one of the last ones made.) when moving it awhile ago, the clip securing the diagonal let go and it smashed into the primary. Now the big mirror has a 1/2" dia spall (crater) roughly in the center zone. the mirror needs recoating, will it still work if I blacken the scar?, can such damage be repiared?. Or am I just kidding myself?. Have I a dead scope?.
