I was trying to turn it on at Target, but they didn't have the cord connected. Since it has a variable speed control, you can adjust it instead of having only a few speeds like most fans (whether the flow rate is similar would have to be measured).

I like noisy fans so I cna use them as white noise generators. I use them for that purpose in the winter time

Blade tip speed is a problem with axial rotating fans. Electrostatic fans are silent, but the ions are not good for you. If you can find a large squirrel cage fan that takes a slow speed motor, you'll have better luck.

I suspect China will crank out some cheaper Dyson imitations before too long, if they haven't already.
