SeattlePI.com has chosen their top 10 coffee shops of the year.

Seattle Visitors Guide: Seattle coffee shops | seattlepi.com (http://www.seattlepi.com/visitorsguide/section.asp?sectionID=28 - broken link)

Do you agree with the list? Is there any other that haven't made on the list?

I personally haven't been to the first one. For the rest, they were ok, I suppose.

C&P has a great homey ambience and the coffee is pretty good. Can't really speak to the others but if Vivace on Broadway was still around, that would be my #1.

I certainly wouldn't put Starbucks in the top ten. Got to give them props for putting espresso on the map, but geesh! Over roasted dreck.
Of those I've been to on the list, Zeitgeist is a nice place to hang out in. Vivace has great coffee and the owner has done a lot to promote home coffee roasting. Uptown is fine. Vita has great coffee. I'd add Victrola on 15th, Lighthouse in Fremont, Herkimer in Greenwood, and Cherry St coffee downtown.

Victrola! It's been a while since I've hung on the Hill. It's definately got the funk (as in cool) factor and does make a good latte.

....... STARBUCKS?!?!?

Immediately casts a shadow over the entire list. Their coffee is just as fake as the corporate facade is these days.

I like Zoka on that list.

I also like this one chocolate shop on 45th St. in Wallingford that serves the best mochas (and yes, chocolate) of anyplace in Seattle. And, I also like my little local espresso hut. And, of course, there's my own coffee that I like to roast.

Me too. I rarely buy coffee out because I roast at home, and it's just so much better, and cheaper, and fresher.

Any list with a top ten of Seattle coffee houses that has Starbucks on it has ZERO credibility.

NONE.

If you expected credibility from ANYTHING on the Seattle P-I website, you haven't seen it lately. It's really gone downhill.
