I am looking at a few apartments and condos in Seattle on the east side, and one that really caught my eye was Red160.

See the pictures and text via the link below:

Red160 Apartments - 16095 Cleveland Street - Redmond - EquityApartments.com

This seems like a very modern apartment complex. Does anyone know if people who live here like this place? The apartments are fairly new, so unfortunately I can't find too many reviews about them online.

Be careful renting from Equity properties. They own probably 95% of the apartments here in Orlando and they're horrible. Everyone I know has at one point rented from them and everyone has a horror story. Maybe they run things differently in WA, but I wouldn't bet on it. Keep track of any money, fees and complaints that you give them.

I drove by Red 160 this morning. It might be a fine place to live if you have a job in Redmond. And I think it is fairly typical of what they're building these days. They look nice from the outside, and there's nothing especially wrong with Redmond, but unless you work there, why live there?
But if you do work there, Redmond has some good things. A decent bagel bakery. A good Indian lunch buffet. And an amazingly awesome dog park.

Thanks Ira.

I was trying to get something for 3 months in Redmond since my parents will visit me and will feel comfortable in that area. Once they leave, I will probably move to Capitol Hill.

Red160 did not have anything for 3 months.

Equity Group has good reviews for their Seattle properties.

My job is to work on a contract basis for a company in Cleveland, Ohio. So I can work from anywhere in Seattle in August onwards and will probably work from all parts of the city during the first month or two I am there. That way, I can find the right place for me and sign a long-term lease.

That area of Redmond is getting quite dense with apartments, condos, and retail. It's actually pretty decently urban in that Cleveland St/Redmond Way little corridor. It's got a sort of "new-urbanism" feel with the TOD developments clustered around the Redmond park & ride. It's no Capitol Hill, but its way beyond cookie cutter suburbia.

Hey usernametaken-

I've rented apartments in Equity properties on Capitol Hill and in Kirkland- not sure what's up in Orlando, but I have had great luck with them here. Great staff at both properties, and have had good experiences with customer service. I checked out Red160 online just out of curiosity- it looks like a nice place, and that part of Redmond is definitely not the typical suburban wasteland. Not a bad plan. I just moved back to Cap Hill and rent from Essex.

Dj, thanks for the post. Have you ever rented a house or an apartment that is a part of a houselike structure from Equity? I am trying to avoid high rises if at all possible.

Do you like Capitol Hill?

Well, the apartment in Kirkland was just a typical 2-floor 'house-like'
apartment, more like your typical suburban apartment from anywhere.

The apartment on Cap Hill was a 6-story 2 building complex (The Heights on Capitol Hill) - one of the few newer construction buildings in that location. I love living on the Hill- I only lasted in Kirkland for 6 months and broke my lease to move back across the water. Once you live in Seattle, it will be difficult to go back to the suburbs....
