So, I am a huge fan of eating international food. I have found some nice Italian places in Renton, Indian food in Bellevue, Korean in Auburn, and Chinese in...Chinatown (go figure), etc. But there are so many more places to try out. I want to find out for myself where the best food is for each nationality.

So please name some of your favorite ethnic restaurants!

My favorite Mexican was La Venadita in Issaquah on Gilman Blvd. I think the last week I was in Issaquah I ate there every day.

Even though Im of European descent, I LOVE Indian and Thai food and Seattle has plenty of great Indian and Thai restaurants as well as some other international food.

I like some European food but its much easier to get those things at a food supermarket instead of eating out at a restaurant for those things, so I mostly have been going to asian restaurants here when I eat out. Also I eat out roughly twice a week since I cant afford eating out more often than that.

So many restaurants here have a distinctive sophisticated feel with character.
Surprisingly where Im from, it has more restaurants in quantity but not as much in quality and more generic restaurants there and much less affordable.

Some of my favorite Indian restaurants in Seattle:
1. Roti Cuisine of India.530 Queen Anne Avenue North In the Queene Anne neighborhood
2. Shalimar Indian Restaurant. 4214 University Way Northeast University District neighborhood
3. Maharaja West Seattle 4542 California Ave. SW West Seattle neighborhood
4. Cedars Restaurant 4759 Brooklyn Avenue Northeast, In the University District
5. Chutneys Bistro: 1815 North 45th Street Wallingford neighborhood

Some of my favorite Thai restaurants in Seattle:

1. May Restaurant and Lounge 1612 North 45th Street In the Wallingford neighborhood
2. Jai Thai Restaurant 3423 Fremont Avenue North In Fremont neighborhood
3. Tawon Thai 3410 Fremont Avenue North Also In Fremont, a few blocks away from the one above.
4. Jhnajay Thai(There are two locations. One in Wallingford(1718 North 45th Street) and one in Ballard(5313 Ballard Avenue Northwest).
5. In the Bowl(1554 East Olive Way) In Capital Hill

There are also at least 10 other restaurants I like a lot in Seattle.
I also have been to some great Chinese, Vietnamese, and Pan asian restaurants here too. I need to start trying out some Italian and Mexican restaurants soon but not until I get to try out some more Thai restaurants.

If you want some more restaurants recommendations for certain nationalities, just ask!

To add to that list, Thaiku in Ballard is great, and just across the street is a Mexican Tapas restaurant called La Carta de Oaxaca. Some truly excellent Mexican is available (also in Ballard) at Senor Moose Cafe (weird name, I know, but GREAT authentic food).

On 24th and 63rd in Ballard is a little Scandinavian bar called Copper Gate. Unique interior design, and interesting Scandinavian menu.

Seattle also has a great selection of Pho (Vietnamese Noodle Soup) restaurants. There are so many of them out there, it's hard to list them, but there is a small chain called Thanh Brothers. You can't go wrong with them.

When I attended Seattle University, we ate at Kokeb Ethiopian restaurant. Different, interesting and a bit pricey. Service is either hit or miss.

But someone recommends Tagla Cafe in Columbia City and says its a lot better... I plan on visiting when I'm in the area.

Taj Palace, Bellevue: Insanely great Indian lunch buffet.
Naan N' Curry, Renton: Indian/Pakistani. Soooo good!
Mawadda Cafe, Seattle ( Rainier Beach) Arguably the best falafel in Seattle.
Lakeside Bistro, Seattle ( Bryn Mawr) Upscale Vietnamese. Huge portions of delicious food.
Muy Macho, Seattle (South Park) Great Mexican food with a lot of Mexican customers.
Lalibela, Seattle ( Central District) Ethiopian, fun and good.
Taco trucks( numerous locations) cheap and authentic Mexican food.
Banh Mi, Seattle: There are a bunch of Vietnamese sandwich shops in the neighborhood of 12th and Jackson, just east of Seattle's Chinatown. There's one on the east side of Jackson around 10th Avenue that's particularly good. More sandwiches should have hot sauce and pickled carrot and Daikon radish. A great place to have a really cheap good meal.

Great thread. I don't eat out at Indian restaurants much (am of Indian descent and eat enough of it at home).

I want to go to Can-Am pizza in Bellevue soon though. They have Indian pizza.

Chicken tikka masala or saag paneer as a pizza topping is a wonderful thing.
Still, the crust at Can-Am is just okay. Maybe they need a tandoor to bake the crusts? When I've had outstanding naan, it has occurred to me that it would make an awesome pizza crust.
