Hi there,
I am curious as to how difficult it is for someone in their late 20's without a college degree (but quite a few years experience in clerical, finance and retail positions) to find a job in Seattle? My current position is with a very large bank doing financial research for over 3 years but I wouldn't mind something in another field as I like variety. Thank you in advance for any advice you may have to offer!

All professional jobs will include a statement about "Bachelor in XYZ required", but ultimately it's your candor, and your relevant experience that gets you a job.

The problem these days is that there are so many people with degrees and advanced degrees available, it's a lot harder to compete without one, even when the job doesn't require it. Keep in mind that the University of Washington alone is cranking out 5,000 degrees a year, and there are several other universities in the area.

In fact many people without them around here are going back to school to take advantage of the time without a job to get their degree.

That's not to say that you cannot be successful, but you really have to talk about the importance of your experience.
