This might be an unanswerable question, but is there an auto insurance company that typically offers better rates than most companies for Seattle-ites, and that has a reliable and customer friendly claims service in case of an accident? In my previous city, there was a company that seemed to always offer better rates than State Farm, All-State for most people etc...

My car is currently worth 12k and I am a male in my early 30s with no prior claims or drunk driving arrests. No tickets with points in the past 3 years either.

Thanks Ira! Pemco came out a lot cheaper. Their site didn't let me complete the transaction online so I will call them directly today. $400 for 6 months (but I think I will have to buy a year by force). Medium level coverages for BI/PD/UIM BI/Comp/Coll.

Well, I assume you want quotes from companies other than the usual - Allstate, GEICO, Progressive, etc.

In the Seattle area, I have to agree - Pemco is a safe choice.

Vern Fonk is another good choice. I haven't really heard anyone mention him yet.

You say you are a 30 year old man with no claims or accidents, so you are probably qualified for super cheap rates. If I were you, I'd check out a list of Seattle insurance agents and give them a call to find the cheapest rates. Otherwise, I'd use an insurance quote comparison site to get some rates. A good place to start is Seattle Auto Insurance

I have been with Pemco for a couple decades. Excellent insurance company. They have good customer service, and if you need to make a claim they will not try to stiff you.
