We are moving in the summer, and have looked at this area as an option, we like larger lots ,but we want to be able to access shopping movies theaters etc how easy is it to do this here ,is the area safe ?will we be isolated? Is the area open to new people ? . We have two kids and both horseback ride,is this an option here? And the commute to Harbor View at 6am how will it be? Thanks for all help.

My wife did a commute from here in Sammamish to an office just past Hollywood Hill, and at 6am in winter that can be a nasty drive with ice and freezing fog in the valley at times, and dark, but a lot of places are like that on the east side.

You may still be able to get large lots, but it's become quite developed in recent years -- it's rapidly becoming a bedroom community to both Woodinville AND Redmond -- both have shopping and nice (new) Town Centers.

If you like "rural" 'burbs, it will be perfect for you -- and I am certain it is much safer than Seattle or anywhere on the I-5 corridor.
