Liberals moving to Seattle? You'll feel right at home...lol. Anywhere you want. I find these "liberals moving to Seattle" threads funny and puzzling at the same time. Seattle is a huge WEST COAST city...why on earth do people think that liberal politics aren't the norm here? Try being a conservative and living in this ridiculous political landscape....sigh. Good luck!

So true!!! (although I would leave out the ending - "have too many of your type") Despite the failing politics that Seattle and the state has, it still can be a wonderful place to live...if you can take the weather. LOL I have to add that I find it interesting that at least in THIS thread, someone that is espousing conservative politics (yes, there are errors) is thought of as uneducated and should be told to leave town....or go back to Mississippi. If a conservative did that? Wow...we would be intolerant!! At any rate OP, you can find nearly any neighborhood that will fit your needs. And I seriously doubt that 50% conservatives on the east side of town is even remotely accurate...there has to be way less than that.

Second, conservative cities and states are also faring poorly.
Third, Seattle has a long history of having many liberals and even socialists, we even had a city wide general strike in 1919, and during the 1940's there was a reference to the " 47 states and the Soviet of Washington."
I don't have a problem with conservatives moving to Seattle, as I count them among my friends, even though I'm ultra liberal.
The only thing I'll agree with is that the Seattle area used to be nicer. I blame it more on the area's financial success than on " the liberals" or " your type." They've chopped down too many trees and built too many ghastly townhomes. The place has become too expensive.
Things happen. It's just pretty easy to decide that one group of people is to blame for all an area's woes. In 1930's Germany, the Nazis concluded that the Jews and " those types" were responsible for the world's woes. Now it's the liberals who destroyed Seattle?
Welcome to Seattle, Sabrina. Obviously, we're not 100% liberal, but most of us are pretty friendly and welcoming. I think you'll like it here.
As far as Issaquah, some people like the Issaquah Highlands, but it's not for you unless very small yards are okay for you. There's a part of town called Squak Mountain, up the hill from downtown, that's pretty, safe, forested. Issaquah is great for hiking. And has a PCC food co-op and a Trader Joes.
Good response to an uninformed and irrational post.

This is priceless. Yogi Berra once said, "That place is so crowded no one goes there any more."

Can you name a conservative city worth a damn? I certainly can't.

All the great cities in North America are liberal. Must suck as a conservative having to deal with that.

Good luck with that,
Obviously the definition of "worth a damn" is purely subjective and an opinion and I'm not wasting my time naming cities in this "battle of wits" with you. It's too bad you seem to be a noninclusive liberal that enjoys painting everyone with the same brush. I never thought I'd see the day where I - as a christian and politically conservative for the most part - was more open minded then a person that belongs to a group that claims to be just that.

We certainly wouldn't want any stereotyping here. Oh wait. From another thread...
