Hi everybody, my name is Chris. I currently live out in central washington, originally from miami. I am looking to move back into a big city again and am anxious about moving to seattle. I have been there many times and spent a great deal of time there. However obviously by looking at cost of living it looks like it may not be possible with the pay that is available. I have been cooking for 8 years with expirience as a sous chef, and i see there are many job oppertunities out there. However i will be relying on Public Trasit to get me around and it appears most jobs are paying around 10$ a hour for someone with my expirience. Is there anywhere is seattle i can survive on that kind of pay? I have no issue with being in a studio apartment. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Contact the people at Stopsky's Delicatessen. They just opened like a week ago on Mercer Island and are desperate for cooks due to ridiculous demand (running out of food after a few hours, etc.). My buddy's been blowing up my Facebook news feed looking for anyone to help and I don't know any cooks =(

The family pancake house in Redmond was recently hiring too. On the upscale side, Anthony's is hiring.

To live on $10/hour in Seattle means a grungy studio, where you are careful coming home late at night. Best bet is to find a roomate to share a nicer apartment with.
