I might be getting a job in Met Park...where is the best place to live considering commute times? Thanks!

Just what is "Met Park"? In my 25 years here, I've never heard of it.

I know of the Metropolitan Park offices next to I-5, the east end of downtown almost capitol Hill, but I guess that's not the one we're talking about?

But where to live depends on a lot of things. Do you want more urban or more quiet? Do public schools matter to you?
There are a lot of places within 30 minutes of downtown Seattle.
Does affordability matter, or do you just want the nicest neighborhood within a half hour of work?
Don't want to do freeways or bridges?
If you give a hint of what kinds of things make you happy and what you're looking for, you might get more specific advice.

Will do...and the Met Park offices are what I'm talking about

We have a 3-year old and are looking for a safe area but don't want to be on the Eastside, would rather be in the city or closer to it....we'd like something with a neighborhood-feel that feels like we're in a neighborhood within the city as opposed to in the city itself. We'd also like an area that has other families as well. We're looking at private preschools for my son, but it will really depend on which one has room at the time we move.

I'd really like the nicest neighborhood within a half hour of work. We are going to rent and can do rent of $1800 or less and would like 2 bedrooms. Walkability would be great but it's not a necessity.

Hope all of that helps! Thanks!

I'd suggest you look at Madrona and Mount Baker ... very 'neighborhoody' with lots of families and close to downtown ... a quick bus ride. Don't know what the rents are like though.
