This is a letter which I recieved: '-- It is with a heavy heart that we bring this news to you. The Northwest Craft Center must vacate by December 30, 2011. In a meeting on Feb. 7th Robert Nellams, Director of Seattle Center, reported that the center will terminate the rental agreement with the NWCC. The space will be used to house part of Seattle Center's 50th Anniversary celebration'.
!!!! BUT!!! The Seattle Craft Center has always been a part of the Seattle Center since the world's fair. It should be a part of that celebration!!!!
This shows a complete lack of fore-thought from the part of the board.
Please protest !!!!!

The people behind the Chihuly Museum of Self-Aggrandizement that is being plopped down near the Space Needle didn't want any other facility on the Center grounds that was selling art. Seattle Center Kicks Out Northwest Craft Center After 48 Years | Slog

Officially, the non-competition agreement that the Ego-with-an-eyepatch wanted was nixed, but obviously Seattle Center management decided to send them packing anyway.

I'm done with Seattle Center. It used to be the gathering place for the whole city, but now it's just targeted at tourists.
