Murray retired ... Erik is the head bartender now. He doesn't disappoint.

!!!! Whoa that is shocking!!! He isn't that old! We left Seattle last Sept for NYC....my husband and I fell in love wining and dining at Zig Zag and Il Bistro (both of which Murray has bartended at). I can't believe he retired, but good for him! Best bartender EVER.

Another funny addition to that story...our waitress (Angie) was always the same @ Zig Zag...we would always order the flaming cheese(their menu has long changed so I don't think they have this anymore), bruschetta, and this amazing caesar salad. Eventually as we were together more we didn't "go out" as much....she eventually left Zig Zag but then I ran into her @ Pike Place Market at this booth that sells the most amazing soaps (don't remember the "brand" but they are lovely)....my point is that Seattle has this lovely small town feel to it (which can be good and bad, but in this case good)...it seems I always ran into people I knew downtown, even though none of them lived or worked where we would have our chance encounters. Neat.

Well ... Let me clarify ... He will work at RN74 when it opens. But it will be a wine bar. Don't worry I'm sure occasionally he will work part time and still travel.

I just walked by Turnpike Pizza near Greenlake the other day and they were advertising happy hour with microbrews at 2 bucks and change. It always smells so good too. I've been itching to try that place. I think it's 2-6.

I haven't tried Turnpike Pizza's Happy Hour, but I've had their pizza. It's quite good.
Best in Seattle? Nah. But is there a better combination in all the world than pizza and ( two dollar) beer? I don't think so.

I believe Flying Squirrel (you may have heard of them Ira) has awfully good pizza with $2.50 PBR's at any time of the day - but they looked closed up when I drove by today - remodeling?

I only visited Seattle for a couple weeks last month, but I swear by Bambino's Pizza, 401 Cedar Street. $2 microbrews from 4 - 6 pm, terrific pizza.

I couldn't possibly drink crappy PBR beer with exquisite Flying Squirrel pizza, even if the beer were fifty cents. You would drink PBR to get the taste of really bad pizza out of your mouth I also drove by Flying Squirrel earlier today and saw plastic up, as if they were painting. But they don't open til 5 O'clock anyway so who knows?

Yup. Bambino's is one of my top five in Seattle pizza places. I'd say better than Turnpike and not as good as Flying Squirrel. But two dollar microbrews makes it pretty appealing.
