I'm 21 with nothing going for me here in Philadelphia and I need a change. I was thinking about moving to the west coast from Philadelphia. What is it like in Seattle? Would it be best to rent an apartment or a room? what about murders here in Philly its over 300.

Seattle is great if you love clouds. Ever thought about Denver, Colorado?

Not to worry, the rain will probably kill you anyway.

Life is good in Seattle. Pizza is bad.

It would be best to rent an apartment, unless your income is very low. Then you should share an apartment. I don't think there are any SROs left, which is partly to blame for the huge homeless problem.

I write paragraph after paragraph, and say nothing. Woof writes three sentences, and says it all. The only part I disagree with is about pizza. It was horrible when I came to Seattle thirty five years ago. This was pre Pagliacci. Places like the Northlake Tavern and Olympia Pizza were proclaimed as the best. And there are still lots of bad pizza places around that are doing very well. But now there are also some good pizza places. Life is good in Seattle. Pizza is getting better.

That's funny, I had Pagliacci in mind when I said that! It might have been just the one slice that I ate, which was skimpy on the sauce and cheese. But you hardly say nothing, I think your posts are the most informative here.

I love Pagliacci!!! I miss it, and I live in nyc now, so that's saying a lot!!! Also good (and different styles) are Tutta Bella (specifically the one on Stone Way) and that Chicago style pizza place in Fremont (forget the name, is where Mad Pizza used to be).

We recently moved from Delaware last year and really love it here. The rain is not so bad, don't let that scare you away. If a homicide doesn't kill you out there, the air will. The air is clean and fresh here compared to the Philly/Delaware area. And summer is gorgeous- no humidity! The other day it was 85 and thats hot for here from what I gather. Usually its in the 70s. Of course it is more safe here, tons to do- especially if you like outdoor stuff.
You could look into subletting an apartment on a short term basis to see if you really like it here or not. It's less commitment.
