Oh I am fully aware of how Texans are irrationally proud of their former country turned state (as they will constantly remind you). You can't walk a few feet without seeing another lone star flag. The world begins and ends in Texas for 95% of the people there. And what's wrong with that??? What other state can you visit where the state flag "outflys" the US flag in a majority of settings?

As a Texan all my life, I certainly concur that people are too damn proud-and even I have no idea why. I think it's because they haven't left their area code so they have no idea what lies outside TX. Actually, we have left our area code...and have traveled extensively...we just realize that people are truly genuine in Texas...It's quite sad actually. ???It is great if you like sunshine though-which is what Seattle seems to lack

Tahoma, if you click on "Quote" when you are replying, the person's post to whom you are responding will show up in your post but clearly marked as their words rather than yours. It is easier to read than if you insert your comments as a different colored font.

That's so funny...I have live in Austin for the past 15 years...and have been in Houston for the last 6 months...but am moving to Portland next month for a job offer...have you been to Houston previously???
