I think the Midnight Madness events that take place at the Egyptian Theatre on Capitol Hill are a bit of a gem, and yet, not many people seem to know of it! The theatre plays movies every weekend at midnight, some movies that have not been on the big screen in a looong time.

I suggested some movies to them, and they picked me up on one. That movie being "The Good, The Bad, The Weird." It's a foreign film, comedy/action. It's playing November 18 & 19 (Sat & Sun) and I recommend you see it. Encourage the Egyptian to play more foreign films! Show them that they're not wasting their time with them. I would personally looove to see more foreign films from them.

That was an awesome movie and I'd encourage everyone to go see it. It's basically a South Korean Western movie (ala Clint Eastwood) with comedic overtones that takes place in the Gobi Desert during WW2.

Eh, if you thought it was "one of the stupidest movies made," maybe you shouldn't...?

I grew up on foreign films. My biggest haunt was the Ridgmont Theatre on Greenwood Ave. (demolished, 'boo-hoo'). This is where Igmor Bergan was introduced and they had a candle-lit coffeehouse next door where the films were discussed. Then there was the Guild 45, 'Uptown' on lower Queen Anne, Varsity, and later the Women's Century Club on Capital Hill.
Later, The Seven Gables, then Egyptian, which was the Masonic Temple, but still a great theatre. I forgot the name of that little, itty-bitty theatre in the U-District, but they too have shown some great films.
Now days, my movie theatre is NetFlex.
