Hi all you Seattle folks. We here in San Diego have been flooded with transients/ homeless the last few years- - -out of control. Was wondering what is happening up there as far as that is concerned. Thanx!

There's a lot of them here; the weather isn't as year-round balmy as in San Diego, but it's still mild compared to much of the country. I haven't found anything useful on how many there are, but I know there's more than a few living under I-5 as it passes by South Lake Union; I see those most workdays. There's lots that seem to live in/around southern parts of downtown.

Seattle has a lot of transients. If you do a search online of "tent cities," you'll get more information on how these have impacted the communities in the area.

Having just moved from San Diego a couple months ago, I feel like there are more transients here than there, at least in the outlying suburb areas.

V. =)

In Seattle we feed and house all the transients that show up on our streets. Maybe that is why we have more than other places.
