So, I finally have a final offer for a position in Bellevue, after a 4 month long trek in trying to get a job out here

Since most of my extended family resides in the Mount Vernon area, I was considering the Marysville area for proximity. What kind of commute times can I expect to Bellevue between the hours of 7-9AM?

Also, the same question for a commute from Issaquah (our second location we're looking at).

From Marysville, I would think a minimum of an hour on a good day - that is the worst time of the day to make that drive. From Issaquah, 15 minutes maybe?

My commute from Issaquah to Bellevue is 15 minutes at 8 am: that's from the Bellevue side of Issaquah to the Eastgate area. I imagine longer if you were going to downtown Bellevue or coming from the Highlands.

Marysville to Bellevue is going to be brutal, as tobester suggests. Issaquah to Bellevue is easy schmeeasy, and there are surface streets to do it if you prefer them over I-90.

An hour seems reasonable, although even on a good day it will be at least 45 minutes. There are quite a few car pools for that kind of commute though, might make it more bearable.

The question is, do you want to live nearer relatives who you'll see once a week at most, or nearer work which you'll do five days a week.

A good friend of mine lived in Lake Stevens and drove to Redmond every day. It could easily take her 2 hours. 1.5 was likely and 1 hour was rare. She often stayed stayed later just to drive when cars were moving, but traffic going north can be stop and go til after 7:00 pm on a fairly regular basis. I also used to drive from Bellevue to Everett for evening classes (starting at 5:00) so I drove up 4 days a week. I'd leave at 1:30 and do homework before class because the slowdowns start shortly after that. And this was only to Everett - the traffic between Everett and Marysville has absolutely sucked anytime of the day or night that I've gone through there.

Issaquah is going to be a pretty good commute. Have you thought about something like Woodinville? or Juanita? probably a bit longer of a commute than Issaquah, but not bad, and on the north side and at least a bit closer for a visit to family.

Congrats on the new job!

Bothell is nice. Good schools. Easy access to Eastside and Seattle.

Probably a 45 minute commute or worse. 405 south through Kirkland is a bear in the morning.

Bothell is huge. An address in Bothell can be practically in Maltby or Alderwood Manor or Woodinville or Kirkland or Kenmore. So it's pretty varied. Downtown Bothell is nice and has character. As far as the commute to Bellevue, be prepared to not get on 405. If you can go extra early or after the AM rush hour, it's mostly okay. But during that time, you can beat 405 on a bicycle or maybe even walking. But you can take 100th, Central, Lake Washington Blvd and Bellevue Way( it's mostly all one street that changes names) instead of 405. That would make it something like a 30-35 minute trip from DT Bothell to DT Bellevue.
